Intermediate level (3-4)General aims and goals:
The aim of this intermediate course is to develop skills learned at the elementary level. As this basic knowledge of the language consolidates, students are introduced to more advanced structures of the Finnish language. The understanding and adequate use of more complex structures in a variety of contexts becomes the next great challenge.
Skills are practised continuously through conversational and written tasks, games, articles, crosswords, etc. Knowledge of Finnish culture deepens through various texts and writing tasks.
More advanced vocabulary- basic concepts of society, culture, politics and work related issues.
Conversation and writing skills- involving familiar topics, personal interests and current news and events.
More advanced structures- passive, conditional, infinitive and participle verb forms, noun cases (essive, translative, abessive) and comparative & superlative adjectives and adverbs.
